Monochrome Sophistication

I was playing around on one of my favorite sites, Polyvore, and I came up with this lovely combination. I am a huge fan of monochromatic palettes, as 80% of my wardrobe is in the black, grey, and white family, so this outfit is probably the epitome of ... me.

I am also dying over this exquisite tuxedo inspired jacket by BALMAIN and this bag of my dreams by Givenchy. I am determined to have both of these in my closet one day. I also quite enjoy the pop of cobalt blue in the shoe, it introduces a little color into the scheme.

Maybe you will see me in this outfit for a post in the future ;) pray with me?

So it is day two of my week trip here in the City of Angels. Did I already mention I am in love with the weather? Well can't say it enough. Universal City Walk is literally five minutes from where I am staying, so the family and I took a stroll down the very colorful and eventful pavement. I thought the globe in front of Universal Studios would be a great blog post background and a man enjoying his afternoon on a bench asked me if I was a model. Good day.

I have always been a fan of very oversized cardigans. They are so cozy and they look lovely paired with shorts that are shorter than the length of the cardigan. If you haven't noticed, I like to play with proportion. I quite enjoy the causality of this outfit, but I finished it off with this patent leather bag which I cannot get enough of.

The place that is my abode for about a week is steps away from Warner Brothers Studio backlots. Maybe I will see a movie star. Or maybe they are in need of one ;)

Trail mix and green tea. Goodnight.

I am currently in L.A. right now for a vacation, plus a little work, and I am more than loving the weather. I have to keep myself from dangling my whole body out of the window while we drive downtown. Let's just say I am not looking forward to going back to 100 degree Vegas. But I have a week here so I will take what I can get.

I was decked out in American Apparel today, as I drove in to Los Angeles and ran to a meeting with Photogenics Media Group, so I figured I would take some pictures after the craziness settled down. I love the proportion of these high waisted twill pants and my new obsession, this turtleneck sleeveless crop top. I need this top in every color available.

Now I am going to go make myself some hot green tea and enjoy the smell of the fresh linens on my rollaway.
